Get Involved

There is a lot that we can do ourselves to help out the Bees. However small or large your efforts are, they make a difference. If you want to learn more, come and volunteer with us. Our volunteers are linked up through our Volunteer Whatsapp Group. We come out on Tuesdays 10.30am, and Sundays, 11am. Everyone welcome, although children must be accompanied by adults.

Volunteering With Us

Volunteer on mini-digger

Aided by the fact that we had to stop group volunteer sessions through lock down, we developed a free style of volunteering where people come and get on with jobs on their own or in small socially distanced teams. Through volunteering on the Bee Sanctuary, you will learn to be a Wildlife Gardener, and also learn about Bees. We hope you will go on to create projects of your own. Check out our What We Can Do page.

We do not ask for a routine commitment from you, but give advice and support so you can be actively involved. We know that this is a much more productive and enjoyable way of working, and suits people’s busy lives. There are a variety of seasonal tasks from weeding to path making, making dead hedges, planting hedging, sowing wildflowers, planting bulbs, digging ponds… etc. We encourage people of all ages and backgrounds… it’s a great project to get young people and children involved too!
